Independence Oaks Butterfly Count

On June 28 a butterfly count was held at Independence Oaks County Park in Oakland County, Michigan. The count was supposed to be on June 27, but weather postponed it until the next day.
I had never been to this park before, but found it excellent for butterflies. The count started at 1pm and finished at about 4:30pm
I don't have the final results yet from leader Dwayne Badgero. My personal sightings resulted in 21 species. The big story of the day was five species of satryium hairstreaks. Missing only Acadian Hairstreak. So that means we recorded Edward's, Coral, Banded, Striped and Hickory. And excellent day by anybody's standards.
My sightings were as follows:
Least Skipper
European Skipper - 2
Delaware Skipper - 1
Hobomok Skipper - 1
Cabbage White - 4
Clouded Sulphur - 1
Coral Hairstreak - 1
Edward's Hairstreak - 2
Banded Hairstreak - 20 (count total 40+!)
Hickory Hairstreak - 1
Striped Hairstreak - 1
Summer Azure - 1
Great Spangled Fritlliary - 3
Mourning Cloak - 1
Milbert's Tortiseshell - 1
Red Admiral - 2
Viceroy - 1
Northern Pearly Eye - 2
