While looking for butterflies at Dansville SGA (Ingham Co., Michigan), my son David and I located an Eastern Pine Elfin. It was seen in an area that I had scouted on a previous visit. About a minute before we saw the Eastern Pine Elfin, I told David that this is the place where I thought we could find one. Not sure when the last report of this species was for Ingham County.
The Eastern Pine Elfin was very fresh and did not sit still long enough for pictures. We viewed the Eastern Pine Elfin for a total of 20 seconds or so before it flew off.
Also present were 2 American Ladies.
