Variegated Fritillary visits my backyard

Hi folks. Exciting news from my backyard.  Today at 4:30pm, a Variegated Fritillary was visiting flowers in my backyard. This species is not recorded every year in Ingham County, and when it is it is always in low numbers. So to have one in my backyard it is a real treat. This the 43rd species to visit my yard. It is also the 85 specie I have photographed in Michigan.
